solo is a lightweight, disposable device that doesn't require recharging and is pod-free and hassle-free for easy on-the-go vaping. One of the most important features we incorporated when designing solo is its recyclability.
Vaping and recycling don’t tend to go hand-in-hand; however, that's all changing thanks to VAPO’s partnership with global recycling giant TerraCycle.
Expanding on our collaboration includes launching solo, one of the world’s first recyclable disposable vapes, empowering New Zealanders to be able to responsibly dispose of their e-waste.
Similar to how our products are designed as a harm reduction tool to limit the damage smoking does to people, we also consider our impact on the planet.
So how can you dispose of your solo disposable? Simply drop it into any VAPO store, or mail it directly to TerraCycle.
TerraCycle will disassemble and separate solo vaping devices into different metal/electrical components, batteries and plastics. The plastics are then shredded and melted into pellets that can be remoulded to make new recycled products such as garden beds and park benches, while the metals and batteries are separated and recovered.
The potential to save e-waste from ending up in the environment is a massive win on our journey to create a better smoke-free New Zealand.
